Lottie Dolls has partnered with the Rainforest Trust, an international conservation organisation, to highlight the destruction of the Amazon rainforest and the ecosystems it supports.

Rainforest Trust collaborates with strong local organisations and local communities to safeguard endangered species and intact landscapes by creating permanent protected areas in regions most at risk of habitat destruction.

The charity runs a cost-effective conservation model for protecting endangered species has been implemented successfully for over 30 years. Thanks to the generosity of donors, the expertise of their partners and the participation of local communities across the tropics, their reserves are exemplary models of international conservation.

Lottie Dolls has worked alongside Rainforest Trust to create a more sustainable product (removing plastics from the packaging) using Soy Inks and 100% Recyclable Cardboard throughout. Inside the box there are a set of cards which will teach youth about the 10 most endangered animals in the amazon rainforest.

The inspiration of the doll came from Lottie Dolls Creative Director Sofia Harkin, a Colombian citizen. “Growing up in Colombia, we were brought by my school to the Choco-Darien Pacific rainforest for a month where we worked with the local communities and kids, where we brought educational supplies and assisted with their education. Whilst there we learnt about the indigenous tribes and the world they lived in, the beauty and simplicity of life we experienced is all now under threat and in a lot of cases gone forever. The work with Rainforest Trust really resonates with me and we hope to be able to help raise awareness and contribute to the protection of these amazing forests and animals before they too disappear.”  

Lottie Dolls will donate $1 USD from the sale of each doll on Lottie.com, to this amazing organization. With just $1 USD, the charity can protect a half-acre of rainforest. The charity currently has saved over 38 million of tropical habitat across the Globe.

Rainforest Trust allocates 100% of donations to conservation action, they cover all of its operating expenses through donations made by its Board, Gift Aid (UK), and other supporters. This means you can give knowing 100% of your donation will protect rainforests.
